Minki has become one of South Africa's most sought after and popular international models and launched her modeling career on the international stage at just 16 years old. Born in Cape Town on the 26th February 1984, this celebrity Boland resident describes herself as happy go lucky. "I had always thought about getting into modeling, but my parents were very strict about being too young to venture into modeling, so I waited until I was 16". Minki adds that as a little girl she frequently dressed–up in her mother's clothes. "My love for dressing up evolved into a passion for fashion and I'd always thought that if I wanted to do anything to do with fashion, it would have to be modeling".

Minki's modeling career was kickstarted when she caught the eye of an agent from Max Models who signed her up and the campaigns started rolling in as her popularity grew. Minki's biggest break came when she was in Matric when Guess booked her for their international campaign. This was subsequently followed by her shoot with SA Sports Illustrated Swimwear Edition. Minki matriculated from Stellenberg High School in 2002 and decided to give modeling a go for a year.

She soon discovered that her future held a host of local and international opportunities due to the success of her Sports Illustrated Shoot and Guess campaign. Minki has subsequently completed a list of shoots for most of the popular glossy magazines, including GQ, Glamour, Elle, and Bravo. In addition to this, FHM readers voted her the sexiest Woman in South Africa and Minki has won many awards voted for by the public and has a dedicated fan base both in South Africa and abroad. Minki says that of all the shoots she has been involved in over the past five years, the Sports Illustrated and Guess shoots stand out as she personal highlights. The best part of her job, Minki says, has been the traveling. "I've been blessed with so many wonderful opportunities, from exotic locations like Zanzibar and Malaysia to London and the Nevada Desert". Minki adds that the only negative aspect about traveling is being alone and away from her family friends. "I miss my family terribly when I'm away but I am blessed to have their support.

Other than modeling, Minki has long had a passion for television and when the producers of Pasella approached her about being a presenter, she immediately accepted. "As much as I've enjoyed modeling, you can only do it for so long and I've done everything I wanted to do in the modeling industry". When the television opportunity presented itself, Minki couldn't refuse it and although her new career has led her along an exciting journey, it has also been lots of hard work. "I really love presenting and it's great taking on a new challenge", says MinkL adding that it's great to be doing something completely different from modeling.

When not at work, Minki enjoys spending time at home with her husband, Constant Visser, shopping, reading, cooking and visiting friends. She is also actively involved with a number of charity organizations

with her main focus being on children and education. "I love getting involved with anything that has to do with kids and I have a soft spot for homeless children and orphans". Minki certainly plans to have children of her own and adds that if all goes according to plan, she and Constant would love to have at least three children . Minki is certainly a fine ambassador for our lovely Boland home and we here at the Capey Magazine are proud of our association with her.C'
